1999 Ford Ranger
The Ranger is Ford's compact pickup truck. Available in configurations ranging from short-bed 2-wheel drive base models up to four-door Super Cab 4X4's, the Ranger has always been a strong seller for Ford since its introduction in the 1983 model year.

Ford promotes the Ranger as being both "fun" and "tough". It is marketed to appeal to a broad range of consumers, from young singles looking for a sporty status vehicle, to families that want a second car with cargo-hauling capacity, and even professional contractors that need a rugged utility vehicle. The Ranger can be equipped to satisfy these needs, and more.

The Ranger is one of the few compact pickup trucks available with four opening doors. Not the typical "crew-cab", the SuperCab's optional rear doors open forward to allow greater access to the rear interior compartment.

The Ranger received revised front sheetmetal and a new short- and long-arm front suspension for the 1998 model year. There are no major changes for 1999.
